Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is short because we collect very little, and it is specific to Namibian law, not borrowed from somewhere else.

01The short version

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no tracking pixels and contacts no third-party servers. We verified that by driving a browser across every page of this site and inspecting what it stored and requested.

The only personal data you can give us here is what you type into one of our two enquiry forms: the contact form, or the enquiry at the end of the Packages page. We use it to reply to you, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, and filling in the form does not add you to any mailing list.

02Who we are

This site is owned and operated by Future Homes and Computers CC, trading as Future CC, a close corporation registered in the Republic of Namibia under registration number CC/2012/5855.

Our place of business is 4 Kepler Street, Southern Industrial Area, Windhoek, Namibia. Postal address: P.O. Box 97836, Windhoek. Email: info@futurecc.net. Telephone: +264 81 141 5100 or +264 81 274 1349. We do not operate a telefax number.

03The law this policy is written against

Future CC is a Namibian company and this policy is written for Namibian law. Two points of honesty, because policies in this market often blur them:

  • Namibia does not currently have a comprehensive data protection statute in force. The Data Protection Bill (draft, not yet in force) has been before the legislature but had not been enacted at the time of writing.
  • Privacy is nonetheless a fundamental right under Article 13 of the Namibian Constitution, and we treat it as one.
  • The Electronic Transactions Act 4 of 2019 does bind us. Section 36 of that Act governs marketing by electronic message, and we comply with it. See "Marketing" below.

04The standard we hold ourselves to anyway

We do not think 'there is no statute yet' is a good reason to handle your data carelessly. Independently of what Namibian law currently compels, we apply these principles, which are the ones the draft Bill and comparable international regimes are built on:

  • Collect the minimum. Only your name, email address and what you need are required; everything else is optional.
  • Use it only for the purpose it was given for: answering your enquiry.
  • Keep it only as long as that purpose lasts.
  • Do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. Ever.
  • Tell you the truth about what we hold, and delete it if you ask.

05What we collect

Everything on this list comes from the contact form or the Packages enquiry. There is no other collection point on this website.

WhatWhy we need it
Your nameSo we know who we are replying to
Your email addressSo we can reply, the only way we can reach you
Your phone number (optional, Packages enquiry only)So we can call you about a quote if you would rather talk. Leave it blank and we reply by email
Your organisation (optional, contact form only)Context for the enquiry. The field is genuinely optional; leave it blank and the form still works
Your messageThe enquiry itself
Your Packages selectionsThe services and quantities you chose, and any answers you gave about your business (its sector, what it already has, what it wants to achieve), so the quote we send matches what you asked for
Your IP addressHeld in server memory for at most ten minutes to rate-limit the form against spam. It is never written to disk and never attached to your enquiry

06Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies at all: not analytics cookies, not advertising cookies, not preference cookies. It writes nothing to localStorage or sessionStorage, and it loads no scripts, fonts or images from any third-party server.

That is why you are not seeing a cookie consent banner. There is nothing to consent to. Our Cookie Policy explains this in more detail and tells you what would change if that ever stopped being true.

The site links to our Facebook and Instagram profiles. Those are ordinary links, so nothing is loaded from either service while you browse here. If you click through, you are on their site and their privacy policies apply.

07How we use it

One purpose: reading your enquiry and responding to it. That is the entire basis on which we hold it: you contacted us and asked for a reply.

We do not profile you, build a marketing list from the contact form, or use what you send to target advertising.

08Marketing

Sending you an enquiry reply is not marketing, and we do not treat your enquiry as permission to market to you.

If we ever do send you commercial email, Electronic Transactions Act 4 of 2019 section 36 requires every such message to carry our identity and contact details, a working opt-out facility, and the source from which we obtained your address. We will comply with that, and the opt-out will work on the first click.

09Who else touches it

Your enquiry is delivered to our inbox by Resend, an email delivery provider, and then sits in our business email account. Both process the message only to deliver and store it.

If email delivery ever fails, the enquiry is written to our web server's private log instead, so that it is not lost. Only Future CC can read that log.

Beyond that we share personal data only where the law requires it (for example, a lawful order from a competent authority). We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies, because we do not use any.

10Where your data is stored

Our email provider operates servers outside Namibia, so an enquiry you send us will be processed abroad in the ordinary course of being delivered. That is unavoidable for any business using hosted email, and we mention it because most policies quietly do not.

11How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in our email records for as long as the enquiry or the resulting business relationship reasonably requires, and are removed when they no longer serve a purpose.

If you want your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will delete it. You do not have to give a reason.

12Your rights

You can ask us to do any of the following, free of charge. We will act on it and confirm when it is done:

  • Tell you what personal data of yours we hold
  • Give you a copy of it
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete it
  • Stop using it for any purpose you object to

13Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the contact form is encrypted in transit. The form is rate-limited and carries spam protection. Access to the inbox that receives enquiries is limited to Future CC staff who need it.

No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise. What we can say is that this site holds no payment details, no passwords and no accounts, so there is very little here to lose.

14Children

This site is aimed at businesses and organisations, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

15Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. We will certainly update it if Namibia's Data Protection Bill is enacted. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.

If a change materially affects how we handle data you have already given us, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the page.
